Earlier in the week we launched a competition to win a private beta invite to get your very own DJ page on Beatport. Well, since we launched our competition, Beatport has decided the service is ready for primetime, so now it looks like anyone who has a Beatport account can get their own DJ profile on the service without needing a special invite.
Having a page on Beatport gives you your own Beatport URL (mine, for example, is dj.beatport.com/philmorse), where you can have a photo, profile, chart, event calendar, SoundCloud link and Facebook comments. So if you think this looks cool, read on for instructions as to how to get yours.
How to get your own DJ profile on Beatport
- Log in – If you have an account, log in. If not, sign up for one
- Go to “My Profile” – Click your name in the top-right of the screen, and in the menu that opens, select your profile
- Follow the instructions to create your page – You can add a picture, fill in your preferred genres, your chart, your upcoming events, even add videos
- Now, post it in the comments below this post! – Get some free traffic from this website to your new Beatport DJ Profie, with our blessing. One you’re set up, just post your link in the comments below
The benefits of a Beatport DJ Profile
While this shouldn’t be a replacement for eventually getting your own website if you’re serious about promoting yourself as a DJ, it gives you the SEO benefit of having your name on a huge website, plus it’s a neat way of showcasing what and where you play. For the few minutes it takes to set up, it’s a no brainer. Just make sure to keep it updated!
Remember to post your Beatport Profile in the comments below! Good luck setting your page up.
