Audiofly and Tiësto collaborate on an ‘exclusive line’ of consumer headphones

Let’s face it: EDM is the biggest success story the music industry has had in years, and whenever there’s a substantial amount of money being made, corporate machinery is sure to follow. It’s unsurprising, then, to see more and more consumer oriented products bearing high profile DJ brand names. Audiofly recently joined the party, announcing a line of in-ear headphones under Tiësto’s Club Life brand.

To be made available this spring, Audiofly collaborated with Tiësto to create three different kinds of in-ear headphones designed for recreational use outside the DJ booth. “It’s imperative that I hear the detail in the music, so when I heard the authentic sound quality and saw the workmanship of Audiofly in-ear headphones, I knew I wanted to collaborate with them to create my ‘Club Life by Tiësto’ range,” said the perennial DJ Mag Top 100 heavyweight.

There will be three models available at launch: A flagship high-end model with a “custom voiced driver expertly tuned to Tiësto’s exacting specifications,” a mid-tier model that offers noise isolation and “exceptional sound quality,” and the entry-level model which is a “step up” from a quality in-ear headphone that still offers noise isolation. All models will feature distinct Club Life designs and styling.

Do keep in mind that Audiofly is a consumer brand and not a professional DJ headphone manufacturer.

As a top flight DJ in today’s EDM explosion, there must be hundreds of brands willing to pay a premium to align itself with Tiësto’s brand and persona, thus begging the question: Will these headphones deliver? A regular listener’s needs are certainly different from that of a gigging DJ, so do keep in mind that Audiofly is a consumer brand and not a professional DJ headphone manufacturer.

We haven’t had a chance to try them out, so our recommendation at this point is to mitigate your expectations accordingly and take them for what they are: Consumer headphones bearing Tïesto’s name.
