Ghosts ‘n’ stuff… It’s midnight in London as we push ‘publish’ on this post, and tonight we list ten undeniably spooky tunes for your Halloween dancefloors.

Unless you’re an ultra-serious “artist” type, you’re gonna find it hard to resist dipping into your collection in search of something to play to the Halloween crowd in your venue when you DJ this weekend. Your dancefloor may practically demand it: It may just be a few girls in masks, or you may end up with a full-on fancy dress fest going on. So it always pays to be ready!

Yup, a careful nod to all that’s spooky and otherworldly is going to get you some smiles, for sure. So we’ve had a quick chat in the office tonight and come up with a list of ideas for you. Some are obvious, some not so, and at least one would almost certainly clear any dancefloor anywhere in the world. (It’s also awesome, by the way. Can you spot the tune we’re going on about?)

So from house to pop, rock, indie, a bit of Northern Soul, and some pure filth, here’s our just-for-fun list. Enjoy, and we’d love you to add yours in the comments!

Halloween Top Ten

1. Thriller – Michael Jackson

2. The Freaks Come Out – Cevin Fisher

3. There’s A Ghost In My House – R Dean Taylor

4. Psycho Killer – Talking Heads

5. Nightmare – Brainbug

6. Monster – The Automatic

7. Highway To Hell – AC/DC

8. Come To Daddy – Aphex Twin

9. Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell

10. Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr.
