Serato just released an update to Serato DJ that includes a fix for the Pioneer DJ controller bug with OSX, along with support for the Denon DJ MCX8000 and Numark Dashboard.

Wow that was quick – Serato just released an incremental update to Serato DJ, which includes a bug fix that specifically addresses Pioneer DJ controllers not working with Mac OSX 10.11.4.

It also brings support for Denon DJ’s upcoming MCX8000 flagship controller, as well as Official Serato Accessory certification for the Numark Dashboard device, which is essentially an add-on display unit for any DJ set-up that shows three dedicated Serato DJ screens.

Onboard screens are where controllers seem to be heading – if you haven’t tried the Numark NV yet, or the Traktor Kontrol S8 if you’re a Traktor user, they really do allow you to keep your laptop out of sight, letting you focus more on just the controller itself and your crowd.

As for the Pioneer DJ bug fix, we still recommend a “wait and see” approach to all you Mac users regarding updating to El Capitan OSX 10.11.4 (it’s currently in its beta, with a public release slated later this month). But for those of you who may have done the OSX update and ran into problems with Serato DJ and your Pioneer DJ controller, this could potentially be the fix you’re looking for.
