Hi people of the Digital DJ world. I have just signed up to this site & I like what I read,lots of interesting subjects from DJs of all ages, playing all styles which is cool. It's not about genres or equipment or ages or sex, it's about the music I am 52 years old, I have been living in the South West of France for the last 2 years with my lady & kids. I used to DJ a bit in the late 70s, soul, funk, disco & Northern soul but nothing serious, just loved my music. My MP3 collection is in excess of 150,000 files, all genres but i'd say 70/80% is dance orientated, soul, funk, latin, house, rare groove etc etc etc.... When we have friends over for bbq, drinks etc they just love what I play through the sound system. Most are trying to get me to DJ at small private parties & venues. At one stage I was put off by my age but recently i've thought, what the hell, why not give it a go. A couple of weeks back I was at a boot sale & bought a very cheap but vgc Hercules DJ MP3 Control, obviously a very basic bit of kit but ok "pour la chambre". After playing around for a few nights i've decided to invest a small amount of time & money into DJing again, playing my style of music. I don't want to be a 150bpm master mixer, I just want to share my tunes with people. That's it, all I want to say
