Hello there community. My name is Bololoi Christian, a young DJ from Romania. All the information about me can be found on my profile page, so i won't bother you with further useless information about me. I will also apologise in advance for my english, as I am not a native english speaker. Back on track. I started recording my mixes not long ago, as I embarked on a very early journey into the world of EDM. I expect to have my first live gig this autumn, at the school's yearly prom. At the age of 16, that would help me build myself a DJ "agenda" for when I finish highschool. I do hope that with the right number of practice, confidence and a little number of followers i'll be able to impress the guys that are organising the party. That being said, i'll use this thread to recieve feedback from you guys, as well as posting my latest mixes. Without farther useless, time wasting descriptions, here is my mixcloud profile. http://www.mixcloud.com/djicecreep/ Remember that I need your feedback. If there's something you like/ don't, please back it up with an argument so I can improve. Cheers! ^.^
Just a note on your entry into the Juno Bass Heavyweights competition. Good effort, but I would say that with only a 30 minute maximum, you need to use more than five tracks to show off mixing your abilities. Lots of mixing will help hold the listener's attention. Think about your phrases and use some cue points to get quick cuts between many tracks with lots of heavy basslines. Forget long, smooth mixes. Don't fall into the trap of having to use each records' full breakdown: in a 30 minute mix you need to keep the bass action happening almost constantly. I hope this helps, and good luck! Cheers, Jules
Thanks a lot Jules. I felt a little strange about uploading a 5 track mix too, especially with the huge amount of heavy bass tracks in my playlist, but, well.. RadiOlympics is the first competition i participate in. Note taken though.
