Cross DJ Free
MixVibes has joined Virtual DJ in offering a completely free version of its flagship software.

MixVibes, the makers of the U-Mix Control Pro DJ controller and Cross 1.7 DJ software, has announced Cross DJ Free, a brand-new free version of its flagship DJing program. The software is totally usable as is, with no limitations like master level fades, time limits, or updating constraints, and is completely free for non-commercial use.

It has two decks, three effects, beatmatched looping, iTunes integration with cover support and user-definable smart playlists, history function, multiple audio format support, cue point triggers, three-band EQ, equalisers and keylocking.

It is comparable to a product like Virtual DJ Home, in that there is no Midi or timecode – it’s strictly aimed at laptop-only DJs. However, whereas Virtual DJ Home is pretty much the full version of the program, Cross DJ Free is cut-down, lacking many of the functions of the full version, such as full effects and the ability to record your mixes.

You can get it for PC or Mac from here.

Have you had a chance to download and play with this yet? What did you think? We’d love you to share your thoughts in the comments.
