The well-regarded tablet DJ app from MixVibes, Cross DJ for iPad (see our earlier Cross DJ For iPad review), now has a sampler built-in. To celebrate, the company is offering it with an exclusive New Year’s Eve sample set.
The 12-pad, 72-sound sample bank has samples included covering a whole host of styles, the New Year’s eve bank containing the words “Happy new year!” in a host of languages, plus a whole selection of countdowns, party horns and so on. For the other 364 nights of the year, MixVibes has included samples for dance, dubstep and hip hop DJs, plus in styles like “space” and “synth”, and also a host of vocal samples.
We’ve not tested them yet, but as they’re free (no in-app purchase, no new app to buy), you’ve got nothing to lose if you already have the app – and if not, it’s a solid choice to buy at €8.99 / $9.99 / £6.99 (which is 50% off), with in-app upgrades to use it with a host of controllers.
