MixVibes DVS vinyl: This system works with any soundcard, so you don’t need a MixVibes audio interface like some other systems demand.

Hot on the heels of Cross 3.0 – and with uncanny timing considering the turntable-fest of Musikmesse 2014 – MixVibes has announced Cross DVS, a package that turns your digital DJ set-up into a full-blown digital vinyl system for digital DJing from turntables or CD players. As well as the software, you get control vinyl and ISOs so you can easily burn control CDs, so it’s all you need to get going.

Unlike Traktor Scratch or Serato DJ DVS systems, MixVibes DVS works with any audio interface. That means that as long as you have a mixer or controller that can take inputs from two CDJs or turntables, and an audio interface (either built-in or any separate interface with 2 x stereo ins/outs), MixVibes DVS will work fine with it. The Cross DVS software “includes all Cross main features” according to the company, which means four decks, full video mixing including video sampler, two eight-pad samplers, key detection and control, 14 effects and iTunes integration.

Are you tempted to have a go at DJing with DVS? Do you already use MixVibes DVS? Does this package tempt you? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
