The latest Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11.4 update is causing some Pioneer DJ controllers to not be recognised by Serato DJ and Serato DJ Intro.

EDIT: Serato has released an update that fixes this incompatibility issue with OSX 10.11.4.

Hold off on that update if you’ve got a Pioneer DJ controller – the company just announced on its website a rundown of its DJ controllers that aren’t recognised by Serato DJ and Serato DJ Intro when being run on the latest Mac OSX El Capitan version 10.11.4.

Check out the list of controllers below to see which ones are affected.

List of controllers:

DDJ-SX2
DDJ-SX/DDJ-SX-W/DDJ-SX-N
DDJ-S1 Serato DJ Edition
DDJ-S1
DDJ-SR
DDJ-SB2
DDJ-SB

DDJ-WeGO

El Capitan (also known as OSX 10.11) has had a problematic history with DJ hardware, starting with its first update that rendered most DJ controllers and their drivers incompatible with the operating system. DJ companies patched it up in the following weeks, but it’s undeniably a big hassle.

It seems that incompatibility is once again an issue, although at the moment we’ve only heard from Pioneer DJ. As always, we recommend a “wait and see” stance when it comes to operating system updates such as this…
