Loopcloud is a new cloud-based service and plugin combo that allows you to manage and access your loops and samples. It syncs with your Loopmasters account, letting you get to sounds that you’ve purchased from the Loopmasters site within the Loopcloud plugin. You can then drag these sounds straight into your digital audio workstation (DAW).
With the cloud becoming increasingly important for DJs and producers, it’s no real surprise that this kind of storage service has been made available. As your sound library grows, you’ll find that it’ll start to dwarf your laptop’s hard drive – Loopcloud gives you the option of auditioning sounds you’ve purchased, but only downloading the ones that you’ll actually be using in your production, which is more “disk space-friendly” compared to storing gigabytes’-worth of loops and samples in your hard drive.
It seems that Loopmasters aims for Loopcloud to become the go-to online sample archive and manager: think about Dropbox or Google Drive, but aimed squarely at DJ/producers.
