Why should lighting be confined to, well, lights? We’ve seen speakers with lights in them – and now American DJ has announced the CSL-100, a PA speaker stand that is also a lighting system. The three feet contain LEDs that glow in 20 different colours, and the stands come with both static and dynamic lighting modes with adjustable brightness and speed. All these can be controlled via the supplied remote control.
Speaker stands are a must for mobile DJs – you’ll want to raise the speaker off the floor for the best sound and dispersion possible. Plus setting up these tripod speaker stands can be tricky in smaller / darker venues because guests can trip over the feet. The ADJ CSL-100 makes this less of a concern because the lit feet are easier to see, with the added bonus of creating a distinct look for your speaker set-up overall. An interesting idea.
