Pioneer DJ just announced the public beta for the latest version of its Rekordbox software. The update includes a fresh, flatter interface with crisper text, 16 total hot cues, key sync, better font control, and Rekordbox DJ support for the Pioneer DJ DJM-S9 flagship battle mixer.
Rekordbox DJ continues to mature as a digital DJ platform, with Pioneer DJ releasing updates at a feverish rate as it attempts to catch up with big players like Traktor Pro 2, Serato DJ, and Virtual DJ.
Though the DJM-S9 is a niche product aimed at scratch DJs, its compatibility a welcome addition to the growing list of Rekordbox DJ-enabled devices. Coupled with the recent Interface 2 DVS box, it looks like Pioneer DJ is seriously gunning for the turntablism arena where it has previously had no presence.
