Pioneer DJ just announced a new gold colourway for its HDJ-X5BT headphones. The HDJ-X5BT is similar to the HDJ-X5 entry-level DJ headphone, but with the addition of Bluetooth for wireless connectivity while listening on a smart device or laptop. It packs 40mm speaker drivers and a built-in rechargeable battery and a three-hour charge can get you up to 20 hours of battery life, perfect for long commutes and travel. It also comes with a 1.2m coiled cable that automatically deactivates Bluetooth when connected, allowing you to use them as traditional DJ headphones when you’re spinning.
We’ve reviewed the HDJ-X5BT and thought that it’s a great pair of cans for new DJs who want headphones that do double duty. The HDJ-X5BT is solid for wireless casual use, especially on plane and train rides thanks to its around-the-ear cup design, and it’s also good for wired gig use when you’re ready to start spinning. The gold design is a particularly fetching choice if you’re rocking a gold DDJ-SX or DDJ-SZ, or you’ve got a gold-themed skin for your controller.
