Serato has announced that it will soon support the latest Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 media players, with the feature expected to arrive in early October.
This is a boon for DJs returning to gigs, who may have realised that unlike the CDJ-2000s, there is currently no native Serato support for the latest Pioneer pro players that some clubs are now replacing their older players with.

Of course, DJs can still use CDJ-3000s with control tones as straight DVS players, but full HID support will bring all the features DJs would expect to find to the players when using them with Serato, like waveforms and so on. This will therefore be hugely welcomed by patient Serato users who will have been waiting quite a while for this announcement.
Bad news for some Rane Mac users
In other news, Serato has announced that older-generation Rane gear will not be supported going forwards for Mac users, meaning macOS Big Sur and M1 chipset Mac users will not be able to use such gear.

The company is at pains to point out that all more recent Rane hardware is unaffected, and is blaming changes in the macOS Big Sur operating system for this situation.
