Reloop just announced two new budget-friendly turntables: the RP-1000 MK2 and the RP-2000 USB MK2. The cheaper RP-1000 MK2 is a belt-drive turntable that’s got an S-shaped tonearm and a pitch fader with a +/- 10% range.

The RP-2000 USB MK2, on the other hand, is a direct drive turntable with a built-in phono preamp so you can plug it to your mixer’s line input. It also has a USB jack so you can connect it straight to your laptop for ripping vinyl to your digital DJ library. Both models also have new metal faceplates and buttons and ship with the “OM Black” cartridge from Ortofon.

We haven’t had a chance to try the previous versions of both turntables, but it’s nice to see new budget-friendly decks aimed at new DJs who want to get into DVS and scratching. Though they already ship with a headshell, cartridge and needle, you can swap them out with whatever cartridge or needle you want to use. Watch out for our review of them soon.
