    Hi Folks,

    I have noticed several things recently that, with a few changes, can make everyone’s experience on the forums better.

    So here are some tips:

    * Topic Titles.
    Be a little creative. Don’t put a mix in the Mixes forum called “first mix”. Tell us a little about the mix. A title like “hot <theme name> mix” is likely to draw more attention than “first mix”.

    * Use single post for mixes.
    While on the topic of mixes. While it’s not allowed to “bump” posts, i.e. adding a reply to an older post of yours to make it go to the top of the list again, the only exception is in the Mixes forum. Use that to your advantage. Create a post with a clear title, like “DJ Vintage 80s mix-series” and post every new mix in the series in the same post. It gets bumped, so need to worry about dwindling at the bottom of the list, but as an added bonus, people can subscribe to your post. So when you post something new in that post, they will be notified. If you make a new post every time you post something, that doesn’t work that way. So, if you want fans/followers here, do it like I suggested.

    * Listen to the rules!
    We have guidelines for posting, adhere to them and make our (moderator) lives a tad easier. So no hijacking of posts by adding your own question into someone else’s post, no double posting in multiple forums and such.

    * Write a story, not a line of words.
    What we mean is that your post is so much more readable if you use Capital letters to begin a sentence, punctuation where it’s needed and chop your text up into paragraphs, rather than a non-stop sequence of words.

    * Introduce yourself properly.
    We really like to know who YOU are. So if you introduce yourself, tell us more about you. Where are you from, what age are you. Are you new to DJ-ing or an old hand and if so, how long have you been DJ-ing. What kind of DJ are you (club, bedroom, mobile), what kind of genres do you play. What brought you to Digital DJ Tips. What are you achievements/ambitions. Stuff like that. Give other readers a chance to get to know you. I know not everyone is a writer, but you can all say something about you.

    That’s it for now. If we think of anything else, watch this space, we will update!

    If you have anything to suggest, let us know here.

    Keep up the posting and keep on spinning 😀
