MemberI don’t have iTunes; and just have a 300GB External Drive;
I have 2,700 Tracks; but out of these Tracks I could Honestly say that I would only Consider using 1,000 of them as ‘Material’ for DJ Sets; I am probably now down to adding 3 Tracks a week if I am Lucky as I have become Very Fussy lately;June 27, 2011 at 7:06 pm #1071Liambo
MemberI probably have about 2000 tracks for DJ use (about 500 maximum i would use now) i just don’t like deleting stuff i have paid good money for. About 500 records for DJ use also.
All my non DJ stuff is on originally purchased CD or vinyl, which is about 600 CD’s and 500 records.

MemberIll say about 80GB. Not all are used, maybe about 3 or 4 thousand get played. I just try to have a bit of everything just in case people make requests. One of the worst feelings ever is someone asking you for a song and you dont have it 🙁

I admire that!
My “go-to” DJ playlist is about 5 GBI’m just a huge music lover in general – I think part of the reason my collection is so large is that it contains entire discographies from artists I love – The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and 2pac for example. That and I only seek HQ.

I subscribe to Spotify for general music meaning I don’t have to actually own anything except my DJ tunes.

ParticipantMy complete library of music is 131.65GB, which equates to 22187 songs.
However, its worth noting that this is a shared collection. Years ago i spent weeks on end ripping countless CD’s from every member of the family to make a home media server with all the music on for everyone. So its got loads of crap on that other family members have purchased.
My personal collection on my DJ laptop is about half that size. and my DJ collection of tracks i actually play is pottering around the 400 tracks mark.

MemberI have about 10 gigs dedicate to Djing. I use a system I learned from digitaltips, one IN one OUT. For every new track I add my collection, one has to come out 🙂

Participant238 tracks of “gig” music which barely merits a blip. 2,554 tracks of miscellanity. A year back I was at several hundred gigs but I ditched it all.

ParticipantAround 342 tracks? I don’t invest much time in finding songs. Rather, I invest time in knowing my songs.
