Is there any way to map a midi controller that way that it can trigger the cuepoints of a cdj or xdj (obviously one that does allow cuepoints)?
Still having an old ni x1 which is absolutely perfect for that.
Depending on the software you use you can do it whether or not the actual CDJ has any cue point support. Most of the major softwares will allow the addition of an accessory controller (such as something like a Reloop Neon) that will add cue points into your setup. If you have an X1, I’ll assume you are looking at Traktor, so it should all just work.
As a side note, if you’re looking at the CDJs as standalones, it gets a little more complicated. The SP1 is currently the only unit I’m aware of that allows you to do this – and only with specific models of CDJ I believe.
oh ok but it isnt possible to trigger the hotcues within my xdj’s?
the reason i am asking is that i used to use a traktor x1 before and the hotcues are very close together so that i could use one hand to jum on both tracks and the other hand to work on the mixer.
using xdj 700 now (i had to because playing ion clubs really startet getting good about four months ago) i dont like the touch screen and also missing the abillity to jump both tracks with one hand. if there was a way to connect the x1 to a usb hub for example and trigger the cuepoints of the xdj’s or in a club mostly cdj 2000 nx i would be way better.
If I’m following, you want to connect the X1 into the CDJ/XDJ system to control cue points on those units, which are playing music from USB keys? If that’s the case, I know of no way to make that work. To use the X1 you’d have to have a laptop running the music and just be using the players as midi/hid controllers.
If I’m wrong about that, I’m sure someone will jump in. But I’ve never seen that done.
