Sorry for double posting, beatgridding is when you properly set the BPMs on songs in your software. For instance, VirtualDJ has this button for you to click to calculate the beat. Beat counter. You click every time the beat passes and it will beat grid properly because sometimes softwares don’t beatgrid properly
Adam SharizmanParticipantWelcome mate! Actually quite a few people I know started alone. They had no connections with other DJs whatsoever. Only recently I started noticing 2 other DJs and we barely even talk. It’s hard being the newbie but your connections will slowly grow. Check out your old friends or maybe people you don’t speak to much. Sometimes they may have a good knowledge on DJing once.
This forum is really helpful so if you have any questions do ask.
Being two weeks into this and reading a lot about it is good! Do you have a setup up and running?
Adam SharizmanParticipantLol! You’re lucky. I worked as a promoter and I meet people up front and personal. No music for me
Adam SharizmanParticipantI’m doing matriculation. Once that’s past Imma start doing Psychology. Not a male majority profession though
Adam SharizmanParticipantWent to Australia. Beautiful countrysides. Honestly, the best way to visit a country is to drive through the countryside. Drove from Sidney to Melbourne in 3 days. With Canberra as a pit stop. The scenes were beautiful. In Melbourne, we travelled to the Seven Apostles. Honestly, a beautiful country altogether.
Indonesia is also a beautiful country. I can’t remember the specific spot I went to though. It was a town above sea level so it was cooling and nice. People are beautiful, scenes and the goods there are cheap. I love it there. Can’t stand the traffic though

Basically it’s a tool, right tool for the right job, so they say. Beat matching is the basis for proper DJing and should not be over looked.
Lol, it gives you at least some fundamentals to a proper beatmatching. You would at least understand what is going on and visualize it. If you look at the screen, AND listen to your beats at the same time, you’ll slowly notice you’re able to beatmatch. At least that’s my case.
If you’re used to visualizing the beats, it works the same way. All you have to do is listen to it, slowly you’ll get your beatmatching straight. It’s more like a tool to help you learn. Kindda like racing cars in an arcade and real life.
Sync button, however, does too much of the work for you. In my opinion, you won’t be able to properly feel the songs and there’s no satisfaction in sync buttons. But when you get tracks beatmatch it feels way more satisfying, waveriding or listening, you placed effort and your reward is proper beatmatched songs.

I will Definitely try the Different USB Port;
And this afternoon I tried the External Drive on my Foster Mother’s laptop and it worked Fine; so it is ‘Possible’ that this ‘Helped’;
I have doen a Scan on the Drive with Norton and StopZilla and nothing untoward was found;
Unfortunately I can’t afford Food right now; so a Replacement External is out of my Range 🙁It could be your laptop’s USB port not compatible with the harddrive’s USB.

Wow that’s really cheap. Have fun with your purchase! It’s a good buy!
Adam SharizmanParticipantLol. Yup. We have a block of building here in Kuala Lumpur that’s like the DJing alley. The school, shops, servicing area are all located here.
Adam SharizmanParticipantI’m from Malaysia.. That’s close enough! Haha. Solo DJs are cool. Good luck man!
Adam SharizmanParticipantLol this is good!
Adam SharizmanParticipantThanks man! Well.. I wanted something that the listeners would recognize and pursuit of happiness is not even appearing on the charts :/ malaysians don’t really have the passion to find songs other than listening to it on the radio.
Britney Spears, Lady Gaga remix or the likes maybe :/
Adam SharizmanParticipantWell, I use Windows 7. Apparently there are background programs that I have to remove? I don’t get gig opportunities much so my laptop has its fair share of games (2-3?) and music management softwares.
Adam SharizmanParticipantMixtrack is apparently the majority’s choice! It’s pretty good. The only other controller I tried is my friend’s mixtrack and the only other setup I tried is my friend’s vinyl setup. So I don’t have much say. But DJing is like drugs. I’m only 2 months into DJing and I’m already considering my next controller, also a 4 deck controller.
