FicParticipant
Thx guys on your posts, you helped me a lot with this. I didn’t expect to get that much details and because of that I’m really thankful to you.
FicParticipantI forgot to mention that DIY ambiental lights ideas are also welcome, because there is plenty of time to prepare 😛
FicParticipantJust go for it there is no regional locks or anything 😀
FicParticipantTerry gave me the same recommendation, to get Zomo HD-1200, now when I finally got my pair and after using them for few weeks all I can tell is that Zomos are really great headphones in that price range. So +1 for the Zomos.
PS. They have also very friendly support, they sent me wrong color of headphones and after a 2 days I got second pair for free!

November 5, 2013 at 10:53 am in reply to: beginner looking to spend around £180 on a controller #1015933FicParticipantIf you’re a beginner DJ, I think the best option for you will be Mixtrack Pro(doesn’t matter if it is I or II). I own Mixtrack Pro I and I can tell you that it will serve you more then you need to begin you contollerism journey.
FicParticipantZomo HD-1200 Black/Orange ordered. I wish i could buy better ones but atm I’m without any on-ear headphones so I was in a pretty big hurry to buy anything that will serve me for as long as they could and decision was Zomo 😀
FicParticipantIf I would choose I would go for this one:
I find this one as a catchy one, ecpecially I like the smiley face img that made my choice.
FicParticipantI made my decision and that is black/orange ones, but again have problem with shipping calculation, 2 different shippings are shown(7 euros on paypal and 19.90 euros on Zomo page, nether is 10 euros which they sent me in last e-mail), so now I’m again waiting for e-mail to clear things up. So much mess with that order hope I will be satisfied with the product once I get it 😀
FicParticipantYup, shipping for Croatia is also 10 euros. So I will deff go for them now I just need to pick the color coz I like them all!
FicParticipantWhere is the best place to buy it online because there is no reseller in Croatia and with lowest shipping because I only found sites with 20 euros shipping whitch is a bit too high in my opinion for a pair of headphones.
FicParticipant+1 for the “How to digital DJ fast”, this one is complete course that will teach you basics on controler setup, there is nothing similar on the internet
There is also a cheaper version of that one that will teach you how to do all that on Virtual DJ Home: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/learn-to-dj-with-virtual-dj-home-free/ for only 9$.
If you are really into a DJing then I would go on first option, but if you are exploring DJing atm and don’t know anything about technical side of it then save your money and try second course.
Hope this will help you on your decision, cheers!

FicParticipantThanks guys on every advice you gave me. I was at the competition yesterday and I can just tell you enjoyed my time there so much. Maybe I have that feeling because I won the spot in DJ Academy for free, but I don’t think that is the only reason 😀
FicParticipant+1 for Mixtrack Pro, I have one and I can tell that MTP is perfect beginner controler
FicParticipantI have AV40s and I can tell you that they are pretty decent ones for my mixing sessions, on the other side production wise they lack a bit of bass so you will need additional sub or decent monitor headphones to fix that. I think that you can produce well on any decent speaker if you know negative side of them and how to fix that. To prove that one I can just say that I was in contact with Arnej(one of the big names in trance scene) and can conform that he’s been using AV40s till 2012 (he is in top production since 2004). So in that long period he produced high quality tracks with these cheap monitors.
Know negative sides of your monitors and how to fix them!
