    I agree that its easier getting to know music when u have the albumes lined up in your shelf.. I have much more knowledge about 60 – 70 rock, punk, blues and country from our family vinyl and cd collection.. mp3`s dont engage you as much as picking up the album.. looking at the artwork and flipping trough the little book that contains lyrics and such.

    In the general publics defence tho, contemporary pop music artists is often hard to distinguish from each other, there is vast selection of tunes coming out all the time.. More so now than before, and people have access to more music through streaming services than before.. So getting to know all the music is harder then before i guess.
