Both are good . Check out the Denon MC 2000 as well . Lot will depend on what software you feel comfortable with . Tracktor , Serato and VDj I have used . All good in different ways I personally love Serato .

Yeah had a VCI 400 great bit of gear .. still have a Vestax 100 mk 2 as a back up .It’s sad that Vestax went out of business . Have a Reloop TM8 great controller for the price built well and is 4 channel and is not to big ( one of the reasons I chose it is that you can travel with it on as cabin luggage on the plane as I travel from Botswana to Australia and back a few times a year ) its going to be less expensive than the Pioneer SX2 .. Yeah the Denon MC 7000 looks great as does the Reloop Mixson 4 these are new love to see a comparison on these two controllers. . Both companies make great gear .

Thanks mate , love the TM8 really glad I got it . I lost my 2 residencies lately one to a guy playing CDjs .. but mostly palyes premixes on his usb and he lipsinks . and other to a guy on a laptop using VDJ who also uses premixes as they play for beers . Both gigs I starte and help build d with the bar owners and both have doped patronage since Ive been replaced . But I mix/ scratch live and looking at ways to get better to really differentiate between the guys playing pre remixes .

Thanks for all the help. Ended up buying a vestex 400 a Friend was selling as he was not DJ ing he only used it twice in his room , came with a nice case too for $200 US .. so I took the risk buying a vestax Been impressed so far lots to learn with it . Works fine with serato and my Windows laptop.. its jjust hasn’t got the serato skin .. which I need to get …I’m keeping the MC000 ATM as I’m travelling to Africa an Europe soon and have 2 weddings to DJ there and the compact size of the MC000 will be good for travelling, but I am temptedto take the 400 ..

Like the idea of renting and having speakers in the 500-600 dollar range as a backup too .. I will be asking about basic light set up next … as I have no idea .. Oh BTW mate my MC 2000 is still going great played a huge gig with it Saturday night and it sounded great it was just good that I had an RCA to XLR Converter to plug into the sound system.
