TordParticipantI’d be PISSED. Flat out stealing someones work and presenting it like your own is .. well I don’t have words.
TordParticipantPerhaps a silly question, but can a producer put his music directly on Beatport? Or does it have to go via a 3rd party?
TordParticipantHi!
Important topic, but maybe not suited for “The DJ Booth”.
I think we all feel moodswings from time to time. Winter time, especially in areas with less light, tends to bring out the more gloomy feelings.
My advice is to try and stay active, don’t “cave in” to your feelings, and make an effort to stay fit and in motion. While these tips don’t work for everyone – they really do the trick for me.
Best of luck! 🙂
TordParticipantPhil talks a bit about this in Chp. 3.2 (Day-To-Day Music Discovery) in the course. Like has been stated a few times in here, you need to mix with music YOU like. The stuff Phil uses in the videos are picked for ease of display – stuff that just works out of the box. You might hate that genre or those tunes, and want to work with stuff you like.
Listen to chapter 3.2 again – and really take in what Phil says about discovery and music selection.
And a BIG kudos for taking this course – I can’t speak highly enough of it!
Best of luck! 🙂

TordParticipantI use TechSmiths Camtasia, and it’s really easy to use. I capture both screendump from RB and Gopro, and line it up with the audio capture from RB. Works like a charm.
TordParticipantIt’s generally a good idea to put the genre and some basic info in the topic!
TordParticipant404.
TordParticipantThe course is excellent, though. Really well worth the investments. Teaches you right from the beginning up. I couldn’t be more happy with it!

I’m using the Pioneer SDJ60X. Love them!
TordParticipantGoli, you should post it in the mix section! 🙂
TordParticipantHi!
I started mixing a few months back, and I still consider myself a novice at best. If there is one thing I have learned, it is to listen back on your music. Share your successes and your failures. People can listen to your great mixes, and you’ll never hear a word about it. If you share the stuff you’d like feedback on – that’s where the real value lies.
Getting feedback on your work, good and bad, is vital to your progress. For me, having people give me critical feedback has been very valuable to my development. When you’re in the “zone” while mixing, you only see your side of things. Listening back to it later, again and again, you’ll eventually spot your own flaws, and be able to learn from that as well.

TordParticipantHi Tamas. The fault you’re experiencing is well known by now, and the moderators have promised to bring this up with the web-dev team. I think we just have to be patient. There are other posts in this section about this as well.
TordParticipantMany of the courses have forums of their own
Cool! Which ones?
And thank you again for your replies! 🙂
