Tuomas HelanderParticipant
I contacted “local” booking agencies, one signed me in, and I’ve beed doing mobile gigs since with great success. Also go to clubs, meet other DJs, since they’re the ones that do all that stuff.
Tuomas HelanderParticipantHi Josip! Welcome to the club/forum!
Tuomas HelanderParticipantOh, the mix was very good, nice progression, flawless and well thought out transitions. I did like the mix very much. The only complain I have, is, that IMO you had too much of the same producers, since when I go clubbing, the less I hear tracks I know, the better, but this is ofc only my preference. This could as well be a khomha set, as any coldharbor artist’s. You can take this as much of a feedback, as a compliment, whitchever you prefer.
Tuomas HelanderParticipantalso upload it to mixcloud or similiar, get some following, lots of listens and likes and provide link, so you can show that someone likes your stuff. Its not done overnight, but will really help if you have something that tells that you can get someone in.
Tuomas HelanderParticipantOh believe me, I’ve played those very same tracks… ^_^
Tuomas HelanderParticipantDeathy, you can reposition the comment by just dragginf it to the point you want.
Pointless advise, but you asked for it 🙂
Tuomas HelanderParticipantWell this certainly isn’t the first time you mixing. Nothing to complain/argue, except thats its a bit cheesy, but who am I to blame…
Tuomas HelanderParticipantYou like Coldharbor, don’t You? 🙂
Listening…
Tuomas HelanderParticipantHello and welcome. Read guides, search the internet, get paid courses if you feel the need for. This stuff however is something that teaches you just by doing it, so relax and embrace it! ^_^
Tuomas HelanderParticipantThanks Chuck…
This is the kind of thinking that some “wannabe DJs” have, they don’t care about the music, they just want something that “works in the club”, so to speak.
I honestly want to believe that these kind of people do not exist.
Tuomas HelanderParticipantWow. This would be the first time I heard someone get booked based on a mixtape. Well done. Go ahead and post your mix here, since its so good. ^_^
Tuomas HelanderParticipantOn a crusade for controller scratching! 😀

Tuomas HelanderParticipantAbout speakers, anything you have already will propably do (like home hi-fi system or so). For starter that is. You really don’t need any high grade active speakers to get going. Whenever you start producing stuff, its a different thing.
For the little practicing I do at home, I just have a good set of PC speakers (Creative gigaworks T80 that is).
About the controller issue, I have a penny or two: I think yo should go for something “cheap”, say an entry lvl controller for starters. Practice for a year or so, and only then will you know what are the things YOU want from your controller AND your software.
