Get your very first detailed look at the new Pioneer DJM900NX2 and DJM2000NXS2 flagship DJ mixer and media players right here, as Mark from Pioneer talks us through all the main features of these two thoroughly updated pieces of kit on the floor of the NAMM Show.

While the workflow and overall appearance may appear similar to previous models, the sheer number of improvements and additions in both cases adds up to quite an update. We particularly liked the improved browsing, the touchscreens (although you can’t “throw” the main waveform as with iOS DJ apps – maybe not a bad thing…), the smart digital send/return for iOS software audio apps, and the new routing options for the Beat FX.

A parameter knob for the Color FX allows resonance for the filter which is fantastic, and the fact that the rather “in your face” Noise effect has been toned down (and then gets its own volume control too via that parameter knob) again will be welcomed by many. And of course, Pioneer DJ is pushing the new sound quality too, which is something we’ll have to wait until our review to give you some meaningful feedback on.
