It annoys me to hear DJs whinging that after 10 or 20 or 30 years “in the game”, they somehow deserve to be protected from amateurs, from beginners, from people doing it differently to them. Why? Because unlike, say, brain surgery, there is no formal training path for DJing, nobody to tell you you’ve reached a certain stage, no objective measure of worth. Yet true professionals have nothing to fear from amateurs. And that means the only way to get and remain ahead is not to jealously protect your patch, but rather to become – and to stay – really, really good at it.

This is episode 13 of my new 40-part weekly Learn to DJ vlog, where I’m sharing the journey as we make something brand new called “The Complete DJ Course” – the most ambitious DJ tutorial course Digital DJ Tips has ever offered to its students.

In the vlog I’m sharing extra little secrets, nuggets and surprising insights, aside from what will eventually be in the course. Plus some “behind the scenes” stuff around how this kind of thing gets done here at Digital DJ Tips. You can ask questions, and I’ll make sure I reply to every one of them.
