Serato has just launched the long-awaited new versions of Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite. Previously available as public betas, Serato DJ Pro 2.1 and Serato DJ Lite 1.1 include Tidal and SoundCloud music streaming integration, along with the new Serato Play add-on pack that lets you DJ using just your laptop and a splitter cable.

Other new features include a firmware update to the Rane Seventy-Two mixer that gives it post fader FX and new onscreen commands, and compatibility with the Mixars Primo controller.

We’ve already done reviews and tutorials of Tidal and SoundCloud streaming integrations, as well as the Serato Play expansion and we think they’re awesome new features. Being able to access streaming services from within Serato DJ means you’ll be able to drop songs from either platform straight onto the decks long as you’ve got an internet connection and a Tidal Premium account or a SoundCloud Go+ account. Having Serato Play enabled means you can spin with Serato DJ without the need for a controller or audio interface, which makes practising mixes at home or on a plane or train possible.
