There’s a misconception that CDJ’s are the best thing, you can do more with a controller than CDJ’s. You can even play CD’s with certain controllers. That’s why Pio is pushing now “NEXUS” CDJ’s and DJM’s, nothing more than controllers.
By the way I have owned MC6000, NS6 (yes have try NI S4, DDJ SX and few others) and now TMX4 which hands down the best controller so far.

Not sure what you want. Are you taking your equipment from A to B or are you intent to play soccer with it.

    It ain’t 2×8 = 4×4?

the best set up I had for traktor MC6000 with 2 sc2000 for 4 decks. You need to be good at mapping. I can’t map my own house lol, but somebody did it for me and it was owesome.

Good one, used to have the 6000 with 2 2000 running traktor pro2, still see the “others” DJ’s faces my first time with this set up. Switch to Serato and NS6 after going back to mobile (best beat grid for 70’s 80’s salsa and merengue). Now TMX4 with Serato DJ. best controller so far for me.

I’m 5’8″,not tall by any means but haven’t encounter any problems yet (I built my own console for mobile gigs) but just in case I need a platform, i have one of this in my RV.

And nerves vary from gig to gig.

Good to see another “old timer” here though.

@ ricardo: I was in neighboring Oklahoma may last year and have been to Dallas twice before. Never managed to go out and discover a scene if any 🙂

    Perhaps next time.

Also having a macbook makes you look alot more professional at gigs AND they are so much easier to use. Also if you are going to drop over a grand for a computer why would you not use it for normal activitys? makes no sense.

“Yes PC can be better but it will cost a BUTLOAD to get a decked out PC”
$1800.00 new. Try to get Macbook pro or air close to this spec for this price.

“also screens and everything do count”
I use all 3 mayor software depending on the occasion and all you need is 720p resolution,
    no need for 1080p

“Also having a macbook makes you look alot more professional at gigs “
DO Patrons care What you Use? or your other Dj’s buddies.

“AND they are so much easier to use.”
Yes you are require to have a MBA to use a PC.

“Also if you are going to drop over a grand for a computer why would you not use it for normal activitys”
It’s your choice or you can’t afford an exclusive laptop for DJing either way all laptops MAc or PC will fail sooner or later,
having a exclusive laptop minimize this.

But then it started to become infested with viruses so i got a Macbook Pro. I now COMPLETELY regret EVER getting a PC! Macbook runs alot faster, has more compatibility, looks better, Has better screen, More RAM, Better CPU, The service is outstanding, AND it is built like a tank! I cant tell you how many times i have dropped it. It is all bent out of shape and is over 5 years old yet still runs just like new. YOU MUST GO FOR MAC. PC works but Mac dominates

“But then it started to become infested with viruses”
Thats what happen when you use your DJ laptop as everyday laptop.

    “Macbook runs alot faster”
Haven’t found one that run faster than my ROG

    ” looks better “
Doubt that a MAC look better than a ROG.

    ” Has better screen, “
Full HD 17″ LED and even that don’t apply to Djing, 3D screen.
and even with the “retina” screen ( wich I have in my New IPAD)
as up to this moment you won’t see a difference from 1080p.

    “More RAM”
Doubt that yours have more than my 16 expandable to 32 RAM.
    And dual 512SSD

    ” Better CPU”
Intel core I 7 3dr gen; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M video card.

Not only you’re 5 year old laptop won’t match this but not even the new ones

So if you can wait do amazon. if you cant like me do ebay. and plus all the ones have free shipping for the U.S that i saw on there. So actually you may luck it out and break even with what it costs on amazon.

800+ people and my mixtrack pro aint gonna cut it
Don’t know you, don’t know your skills but the equipment doesn’t make the DJ.
