DJ 2-EasyParticipant
Keep at it is the Key phrase here.
I am re-learning to scratch on a controller after a 25 year gap from vinyl. Some days it flows, others it wont even get out of bed, then you have to incorporate it into mixes which is another lesson all together hahahahaGood luck man
DJ 2-EasyParticipantYes, you kind of expect things to work as the manufacturer intended.
But in reality….. hahahahaDJ 2-EasyParticipantWelcome Steven, enjoy the banter hahaha
DJ 2-EasyParticipantAfter further investigation/dabbling, it appears if i start the controller 10 mins before I start Serato everything works just fine after a couple seconds of crate loading etc. No need for a USB hub then 🙂
DJ 2-EasyParticipantI only ever use one USB port Chuck. I tried a MIDI control panel tip supplied by Sam at Serato and it seems to have improved it a bit. It still takes a bit of switching on/off randomly to get it going but seems to happen faster than before, and does not drop out. I managed a whole 1.5hr mix lastnight hahahaha
Its a weird one for sure, I may be wrong but it seems like the USB post is slowly “learning” to behave itself……can that happen???
DJ 2-EasyParticipantMac 😉
DJ 2-EasyParticipantI am just about to buy a powered USB Hub!!!!!! What do I need to look out for then?
DJ 2-EasyParticipantSo how will it connect to the Mac if I use a hub……. i’m confused!
Call me old fashioned but it still needs to be connected via USB 3 at the Mac end does it not?
How will that solve anything?DJ 2-EasyParticipantIs it worth me trying a powered USB hub. That is what Reloop are suggesting?
DJ 2-EasyParticipantThe forum, i’ll try the email method.
Cheers Terry
DJ 2-EasyParticipantUSB cable?
I thought spending £1450 on a new Macbook would resolve any issues i previously had…..how wrong can ya be eh!
I can take it back to the local store i got it from and they can check it out i suppose.
Ive posted on Serato “support” but not had a reply in 24hrs…….not very supportive!!Reloop support next, lets hope they have an answer
Cheers guys.
DJ 2-EasyParticipantWell Terry, unfortunately the 1.6.1 update has made no difference at all to my issues. Its still behaving randomly for the first 15mins.
Any other ideas as to why this may be happening?
At least you knew where you stood with a pair of 1200’s and vinyl, this is starting to annoy me now I’ve just encountered one problem after another with my digital r(d)evolution 🙁DJ 2-EasyParticipantThanks for that Terry. As ever you are a wealth of info 🙂
DJ 2-EasyParticipantRick, that is the beauty of Apple. You don’t need to “have a clue” cos it just works straight out the box.
DJ 2-EasyParticipantHmmmmm, might have jumped the gun a bit with the “no issues” post.
When i start Serato it recognizes the controller but refuses to work (trax encoder/menu buttons do not function) so cannot load any tracks. Even when i manually load them on the laptop, they still will not play from the controller. If i press play on the laptop it starts playing but with no sound.
I seems to sort itself out after about 5mins/restarting controller and Serato several times?!?!
Is this a USB3 issue?Cheers guys
