German manufacturer Reloop today announced a new DJ controller: The Terminal Mix 2. It’s a little brother to its already previewed Terminal Mix 4 Serato controller.
Looking remarkably similar to the company’s equally high-end Jockey 3 controller for Traktor Pro 2, this time it is licensed for Serato, comes with Intro, and boasts several innovations of its own.
Features include gain and filter per channel, improved library access, crossfader curve adjustment, 15.5mm vinyl-covered aluminium platters, booth output, and two layers across the eight performance buttons for sample deck control, cue points and smart looping.
There are hi-res pitch faders, and the microphone (with EQ) can be routed various ways including through software. There is one external input, which can be switched between phono and line, and as well as booth output there are balanced and unbalanced master outs.
No word on price or availability as yet.
Is this the Serato controller you’ve been looking for? What price do you think it should come in at? Will you be holding on to your money until its released a little later this year? Let us know in the comments!

if the coffee button actually makes coffee, i’m buying it
[ link ]lol was it you that said that when e announced the Terminal Mix 4 as well?
[ link ]still waiting for terminal 4
[ link ]Yup, it won’t be out until after Musikmesse I don’t imagine.
[ link ]I may get it if its at a resonable price, but any DJ gear with the word Serato on it means it cost too much
[ link ]Is this the Serato controller you’ve been looking for?
Actually, yes! 2 big vinyl jogs plus hardware channel filters plus some basic control of samples, loops etc. Perfect for me – relatively basic “mixer” rather than controllerist who uses SSL when it’s available but wants a basic portable setup for themselves (with a shared library and “feel” to SSL.
Big question though – what are the Decks 3 and 4 buttons?! On an Intro controller??
[ link ]Big question though – what are the Decks 3 and 4 buttons?! On an Intro controller??
[ link ]Remember, midi mappable to others software make it attractive to others that don,t use serato.
But I agree with Phil, something is been cook @ seratos kitchen.
Why only Serato name on it? Why vestax built a $999.00 controller for just (intro)?
I would expect some movement from Serato to make Intro / ITCH more usable on these controllers, possibly with an upgrade path. Notice how none of these controllers have “Intro” written on them, just “Serato”?
[ link ]It’s looks like a lowdown version of Terminal Mix 4, hopefuly it is not a PS photo, official Reloop web-site still no news of it
[ link ]It came from Reloop’s press department, so it’s definitely official.
[ link ]Oh Phil, you are the man, 1st announcement Reloop Terminal Mix 2 on web, digitaldjtips are the pioneer, also it was a very high c/p ratio product
[ link ]Price 290 euro, Terminal 2 is best controllers
[ link ]@Phil: will the Terminal Mix 4 also work with Itch and not only intro, because that’s the only way I see the 4 Decks make sense! thx!
oh, and I really like the new designs by Reloop
[ link ]I can’t imagine we’ll wait too long until that happens – as you say, what’s the point of four channels otherwise?
[ link ]I think Relooop has really stepped up as of late with their controllers and I wouldn’t be surprised if there some Intro to Itch upgrade. The Jockey 3 is underrated and I think the Terminal Mix should shed some light on the quality products that they have produced.
I’m excited about finding my next controller to replace my aging VCI-100. This really does interest me as I don’t see 4 decks being necessary but I don’t want something that is portable, has balanced outputs, and built to last.
[ link ]Played with a Jockey 3 ME recently. Well built, weird layout, lots of features, and not sexy.
[ link ]It gave me the same feeling as a Volvo cars. (the big shoes box).
