Klass MCParticipant
Nice one Vintage and appreciation and respect for your input and support. I agree with you about the usually expected teething problems associated with new equipments. And, in fairness the guys in Japan have been trying but the frustration is the knowledge that there’s a few grands monster piece of kit (DDJ-RZX) packed away in a specially design flight case. I was hoping that someone out there have got DDJ-RZX working perfect or near perfect with a particular brand or model laptop and I’ll be happy to invest in the laptop. Even when I look at MacBookPros out there the specs seems just on the borderline of recommended requirements by pioneer for RZX and Rekordbox. As said, my laptop now (as I recently discovered) is in fact 8-Core i7 (3rd-I believe) with 32gb ram, 2 SSD and the nVidia Quadro K5000M. I know Quadro K5000M is a couple of years old now but it’s a monster GPU and I run Vdj and Serato videos faultlessly with the laptop using Denon MC6000MK2 controller etc. Even low quality videos from mobile phones plays with incredibly brilliant video quality output extended to large screen. I’m still hopeful that one day I’ll be able to enjoy the RZX/Rekordbox, or maybe virtual DJ will crack it!! Bless
Klass MCParticipantMy bad, you’re right. The advice was to stay away from AMD CPU. My laptop is HP Elitebook 8770W, 32gb ram, quadcore i7 with two ssd drive including Samsung 850 pro and nVidia Quadro K5000M. Everything is perfect on Serato, Traktor and Vdj. My problem is with Rekordbox video. Respect.
Klass MCParticipantThanks Dj Vintage, I’m on Windows 7 Pro platform not windows 10 and I’ve Google for possible optional settings for the graphic card but nothing really answered the question or suggested useable alternative. That’s why I’m thinking perhaps anyone with successful usage history of Ddj-Rzx can recommend a laptop. Some of the advice on Google in fact said to stay away from laptop with AMD card so I’m kind of confused but desperate to use the unit after almost 3 months of buying it. Appreciate your support and thanks.
Klass MCParticipantHi Dj Vintage, Just a quick update for your good-self and the guys. After a series of back and forth email with Pioneer guys in Japan and links to a number of “Beta Version Updates” the audio glitches is now 99% sorted on Rekordbox and my Ddj-Rzx as far as audio files are concerned. As for the video, I can play/mix music videos (with the occasional high pitch tone when loading some videos). However, as soon as I double-click Rekordbod video output screen to extend video output to second monitor(even without any monitor connected)
Rekordbox will crash. I’m beginning to
think Rekordbox is uncomfortable with the
graphic card (which I think is nVidia
Quadro K5000M). If this be the case and in
order to actually enjoy this beast (Ddj-
Rzx) I’m thinking of perhaps investing in
yet another laptop. The question is, can
anyone with Ddj-Rzx experience please
please recommend a laptop. Obviously, I
can’t drag the unit to a shop and there’s
no dj shop in my locality. Any advice or
sign-posting will be gratefully
appreciated. Regards and Respect.Klass MCParticipantI’m not sure how to use RZX asio as sound card for the laptop because I can’t recall seeing it listed in windows audio mixer but I’ll give it a go.
Regarding the name change I’ll be happy for the tech guys to do it. I was going to change it to “Klass-Mc”. Cheers.
Klass MCParticipantThanks Dj Vintage.I tried to update profile but nothing seem to be happening (not my luck right now). In the meantime, yes rekordbox dj is set to performance. It’s actually gone worst since my post. I now get frozen screens (laptop and ddj-rzx screens) and horrible high pitch tone through speakers and headphones. CPU usage is fine on rekordbox (only 1 bar) and in task manager. £2500 of kit and I can’t enjoy it. Laptop is HP Elitebook 8770W running Windows 7Pro 64bits with i7 2.7 processor, 32gb ram with 2 Samsung SSD drives. I’ll say well spec above spec for rekordbox DJ. Got event this weekend but it looks like I’ll have to use my Denon controller. Will appreciate any help.
