I watched this. Good advice. Used my computer speakers when starting out, certainly good enough to hear what I’m playing. Mine were a set of Logitech.

    Thanks Terry,

It’s available in a secondhand store here in Australia called cash converters. Basically a Pawnbrokers.
After posting I found a similar post by someone else and that made my mind up not to bother.

    Appreciate the response.

When I used my XDJ-R1 as a midi controller for running traktor pro 2 I recorded through traktor fairly easily.

When I used the XDJ-R1 to mix with CD or USB I plugged in my laptop and recorded the output using Audacity (http://audacityteam.org/)

I don’t see that waiting is against me. As you have mentioned yourself, the STEMS format hasn’t taken off yet.
Traktor Pro 3 can’t be that far off either and with it….. well this site has written about lots of ‘potentials’.

The S8 partly shifted the focus from the Laptop to the controller itself, I see the that as a shift away from laptops.

NI make software. NI make hardware. The future has got to be combining the 2. Why rely on a 3rd party to do the job?

    Am I missing something here?

    Thanks Terry,

Yeah I’m not rushing. I guess I waited 19 years before changing last time. I’ll be ok…. 😉

STEMS looks great and I hope more people buy in to it.
