Zachary BrasseauxParticipant
I’ve had mine for over a year and never had any issues that could be tied back to the controller. There was one instance where it didn’t want to play nice with the new drive I installed, so I just swapped it back to the old HDD until after the gig, but that’s the only problem I’ve had, *knocks on wood.*
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantYo, I’m digging your Martin Garrix Vs Milk ‘N’ Cookies – Animals (InsaNITY’s Private Remix). I know it says private, but I’d really like to get a copy if possible. If not, I totally get it, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

If not, then I will swing for the lossless files and if not then and I feel I need to have it, 320kbps
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantkeep an eye on amazon, i got my Denon DJ MC4000 (normally $400) for $300 due to a sale they were having on all musical instruments. Just watch and hopefully, you’ll get lucky
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantSo, what was your first gig? What kind of venue, event, what problems did you have? What music do you remember playing and overall, How do you remember it turning out? Did you feel like you did good? I want to know!
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantI would recommend downloading the trial version of virtual dj, which you can use as long as you want (though you can’t use a controller with it) It’s really good if you want to learn basic stuff, beat matching and whatnot.
Even if you don’t plan on mixing in any way, i recommend it just for playing music, when one song is fading out, you can start the next one. It gives the whole thing a much smoother feel.
That’s how I started off, just a basic summer camp DJ (which I still do, but with a little more experience), and I just kept learning little tricks to make everything sound better and more fun, and eventually, BAMMM!!! DJ.
But whatever you do, just have fun with it! Good luck!
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantHope it’s okay if I share the mashup I just posted to Soundcloud
Artist: The Chainsmokers vs Zack Martino and REGGIO
Title: #Wonderland (Cypress Mashup)
Genre: Progressive/Electro House, MashupZachary BrasseauxParticipantOh, forgot to mention, I’m primarily mixing house, all genres depending on the event/mood, although my favorites are vocal deep house and Melbourne Bounce.

Zachary BrasseauxParticipantPersonally, I would just organize it into folders/playlists on the pc, edit the tags and put in you cues, etc. in your software (Traktor i think you mentioned), then copy tho the external drive and plug into the mac. is traktor is anything like VDJ, you should be able to play from the drive. It’s how i organize my playlists, i just keep my music in folders (thouugh I don’t have a problem spending a couple of hours in front of a screen doing all this) and I keep all my music on a 64 GB flashdrive as a backup, in case i have to switch to my old laptop. It works, and keeps everything nice and organized for me
Zachary BrasseauxParticipantIf a new version of a software was released (i.e Virtual DJ 9 for examples sake), I would wait a couple months before getting it, so that bugs would be worked out. However, when there are updates to VDJ 8, I always update then and there (unless I need the software immediately as I occasionally do on the dozen or so occasions I have performed..) anyway, yea, update on small stuff almost always, big stuff, I wait on.

Zachary BrasseauxParticipantI like it! Be sure to post if you can give downloads
