Hey guys UPDATE
I’ve been looking around for a new laptop like you’ve said and this came up http://www.ebay.com/itm/APPLE-MACBOOK-PRO-2013-13-3-I7-2-8GHZ-16GB-256GB-GOOD-TO-VERY-GOOD-CONDITION-/262035114139?hash=item3d0282889b
Now would this be a better solution than the original 2012 MacBook? Will it also fulfill my original requests? ThanksKritical SoundParticipantThanks Todd and Vintage,
I actually ended up ordering the JBLs and they should be coming in, in of couple days. I actually have a question. This is my first time working with active monitors and I’m wondering how to connect my mixtrack quad to the two monitors. The mixtrack quad has one set of RCA outs and I’m confused on how to hook it up to the monitors. What wires are needed? The Mixtrack Quad has a built in soundcard, I saw that the JBL’s have a trs and xlr outs, which cables do I use to hook it up from rca to trs or
Xlr.Thanks,
Kritical SoundKritical SoundParticipantHey Vintage,
Surprised but I went to have a listen at my local store and the Mackies and JBL’s immediately caught my attention and were music to my ears (literally!). Mackie MR5MK3 and the JBL LSR305. Any thoughts and opinions on those monitors?
Kritical SoundParticipantWhats’s up Daniel,
I use Serato with my Mixtrack Quad x DDJ SP1. So initially, If it were me, I would buy the software from Serato or another trusted dealer. As tempting as it seems $60 may sound crazy good but at the end you are paying for a software on a website that may or may not be legit. You even stated that the site doesn’t have a description or any information. Might as well be safe than sorry.

My only problem with that is the money. Currently a pair of KRK 6’s are $400. I understand where you’re coming from though. Maybe I can wait a bit longer to fund the KRK 6s.
Kritical SoundParticipantHey nice first mix. I’ve been DJing for over a year now and I still use a Mixtrack Quad (with the DDJ SP1). As for the mix, just make sure that the songs flow (learn your music before you mix it). Learns the breaks, build ups, drops of the songs and try to put them together like a puzzle. Pieces best go together when they fit. Most of all just go for it, if you’ve just started DJing you’re bound to hear more advice and criticism but DON’T get discouraged, try to take in the advice if it is helpful and keep pushing on, you’re getting closer and closer to being a better DJ. Cheers!
Kritical SoundParticipantWhat’s good Ants! Im from the Bay Area as well! Hit me up!
Kritical SoundParticipantI have the Mixtrack Quad (which is essentially the same but with 4 channel instead of 2). The sound card is plenty enough like Vintage said, to power through a party or a small venue, I enjoy it a lot!
