Yes, the N4 is plastic which, so far, is the only downside for me as well. Fortunately it doesn’t feel as plastic as it looks (and with the black, reflective surfacing Numark’s put on it, it doesn’t even look all that bad). But yes, thinking back on it, the primary reason I was considering the VMS over the N4 was because the metal VMS just seemed to look (and I imagine, feel) so much better. I prefer heavier controllers as well so the ~20 lb. VMS sounded really good. Otherwise though, I couldn’t be more certain that I made the right decision by choosing the N4.

what software do you primarily use. how is the latency on virtual dj?(if you use it)

im thinking about the n4. i had the original vms4,and we all know the problems with that, so i got a vms2 and a friend of mine got a vms4.1 i like BOTH systems as they are a vast improvement over the original. the ONLY thing stopping me from getting a n4 is the fact that its all plastic. i had a mixtrack pro and it didnt hold up to heavy gigging.but heres my look at the 4.1 and the 2

Sorry but that is my true point of view in this matter.

Also I buy new stuff regulary as it comes and to sell equipment that I have painted my DJ name would not bring me as much money on the second market as if it is in the same condition it was when I bought it.

Instead I concentrate on whats important IMO, the music and soundquality.

you my friend are the rare exception to the rule that most djs have a bit of an ego. i could have the exact same kit as someone but still mine is better lol. so customizing just makes me stand out a little more

I think so if you got a bigger unit like a vms4 and using something like virtual dj scratching

my name is common but its an interesting story. i started when i was 9.back in 1981 and in hip-hop at the time everybody was using their names in their tags. my name is robert but i didnt want to use “dj robby rob” i thought it was kind of corny,so for the first 2 months i was djing i didnt have a name. one day i was cleaning my room when my uncle came in an we stared talking and as i was asking him about what name i should have i said i wanted a cool name and at the same time i picked up a x-men comic off the floor and it had iceman on the cover. i looked at my uncle and he said “whos cooler than iceman?” and i decided to take that name, thus dj iceman was born. i actually have been “re-christened” the name “iceman” over the years, once for my ability to “snow-job” people into getting what i want, and once again cause for some reason no matter what the situation i never seemed to get rattled,i stay “cool under pressure” and in my biref career as an mc i actually turned it into an acronym I.c.e.m.a.n. Infinite,Creative,Energy,Manifests,Allthroughout,Nature. being that energy cannot be created or destroyed, its infinite, and i seem to get energy from everywhere so i just seemed fitting. so thats my story hope you liked it lol as far as choosing a different one nah i like it
