Thanks D-Jam. Patience isnt my strong suit. I do realize staying consistent is a challenge so if I can do one a week I’ll be happy.
Christopher JohnsonParticipantDude that helps so much. Thanks!
Christopher JohnsonParticipantExcellent man thanks!
Christopher JohnsonParticipant(correction: I DID find mappings…)
Christopher JohnsonParticipantThe Dj that played my last company party was awful. And this was before I started DJing. It was at a swanky club from 5-10. My guess is the Dj saw lawyers and white people and somehow thought Rick Springfield would hit the spot. once he started some dance music he switched to Billy Idol.
Remove all your Explicit Tracks. Clean versions only.
Stick to a theme depending on venue. If it’s a club there’s a reason they chose that place. If it’s at the company, is it beach, sports, mardi gras theme?Beatles? Screw that. “Sorry I didn’t bring any oldies.”
Start with radio hits and then just do your thing like normal and read the crowd. Good luck!
Christopher JohnsonParticipantTaxi. That’s a nice one. Thanks everyone!
Christopher JohnsonParticipant“What’s in it for me?” (typical Chicago reply)..
I’ll send an email today on how I use mine.Christopher JohnsonParticipant$35,000? Are you sure it’s that many 0’s? I have Dj friends and they haven’t offered much help at all. I think it’s a very competitive field where you have to prove yourself. I learned everything from YouTube videos and just trying things.

The Vimeo clip explains the process which is interesting. Have you tried it yourself?
Christopher JohnsonParticipantChristopher JohnsonParticipantI change my setup every once in a awhile. This is the latest configuration. Keystation Pro 88, MPD32, X1, Laptop, APC40, Audio Kontrol 1, Roland VM3100, Event PS8 monitors.
Christopher JohnsonParticipantI’m in it. It’s pretty cool but I don’t fully understand it yet.
Christopher JohnsonParticipantCheck out the iPhone app for DJ Scream and tell me what you think. I like the design but for me, his face is WAY to prominent on the screens. You’ll see what I mean. I see your point about offering more than a dupe of a website.
Christopher JohnsonParticipantHey! I was beginning to think no one would reply to this. I’m still working on a DJ bio to place in the middle section. And once I get gigs I’ll re-add the Google calendar but right now I don’t have much more to include. Any suggestions?
Christopher JohnsonParticipantA Mac for $500. Thanks man I needed a good laugh today.
I got my HP from Bestbuy. You need 4-8 gigs of ram and no less than 500 gig hard drive. Programs are fat these days. Also buy a WD USB 3.0 hard drive 1 terabyte. Yes that’s huge but it’s cheap. Store your music on the laptop and use the WD for WEEKLY backups. If you can’t afford it now then wait. Bestbuy has sales every week and back to school sales are coming.
Nobody cares what color your pc is. Cool DJs cover them w stickers anyway and you ARE cool right?
Thought so.
And forget what your parents or anyone thinks. Chicks dig musicians, tattoos and Cool DJs. You ARE cool right?? -
