Why the’re dropping the price…?
Seriously though, probably because of the huge amount of all-in-one controllers on the market that can compete with the S2, it’s like everybody suddenly realized they don’t need 4-channel controllers, and started churning out 2-channel ones.
CybertrashMemberCheck “DJ Tools” on Beatport.
CybertrashMemberI agree, music should be bought and paid for, what I don’t agree with are the increasingly draconian, privacy-threatening copyright laws that are being drafted, as well as many western government’s blantant pandering to the big content industry (RIAA/MPAA)
CybertrashMemberI’d stay away from PC speakers, cheaper monitors are better, they might not have the best build quality, and they will probably sound a bit so-so compared to other monitors, but I do think they’ll outperform PC speakers. Try to see if you can find a pair of second-hand KRKs or maybe a pair of those Behringer monitors (I have no idea what they’re called, but they’ve got a yellow element as well).
CybertrashMemberHi there. I own Traktor Pro myself, I believe the settings are similar, but don’t shoot me if I’m wrong.
To make your track come out of your headphones:
Open the preferences menu (the little gear in the top right corner). Click on “Audio Setup”, make sure the Audio Device is set to Mixtrack Pro.
Then click on “Output Routing” in the list on the left. Make sure the box that says Internal is checked under “Mixing Mode”. Under “Output Monitor” set your left and right channel to “Output Back” (L for Left, R for Right).
Under “Output Master” set your left and right channel to “Output Front” (It’s been a while since I sold my Mixtrack, so I might be wrong about the names of the output settings, if it doesn’t work, try switching them over).
Then load up a track in a deck and press the cue button, and you should be getting audio out of your headphones.
EDIT:
Forgot the sample decks:
Once again, open the preferences. Go to “Decks layout” and uncheck “Enable C&D” (once again, I’m not if this is how it works in Traktor Duo, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t)
CybertrashMemberMy software is Traktor because they were all out of Combine Harvesters.
CybertrashMemberYeah I definitely think DJs are geeks, if you’re not a nerd when you start DJing, you most certainly will become one
CybertrashMemberYou do realize that the Mixtrack Pro’s soundcard is better quality than that Zalman one?
CybertrashMemberI recently got myself a pair of Sennheiser HD-25s, couldn’t be happier, sound quality is amazing, and whilst they appear plasticky, they’re *extremely* durable, I’ve seen people twist them inside out without damaging them, they’re also super comfy and have got great isolation from outside sounds.
CybertrashMemberI’ve been intrigued by Hong Kong for a while, it seems like a pretty cool place, would like to go there

Oh? Neat, I’ve always thought Traktor has had a bit of a shoddy performance when it comes to the resolution of the pitch faders and jog wheels… Unless you’re using an S4/2.

On which software? VDJ?
CybertrashMemberPhil Morse, post: 13616, member: 2 wrote: Technics still kinda look cool, don’t they? 🙂
I love mah Technics. I started out with just a controller, and I still think controllers/digital DJing is pretty damn awesome, but there’s something about playing with vinyl/DVS that is unbeatable.
CybertrashMemberA pair of Technics (1200 + 1210), Denon DN-X1500S, Korg NanoKONTROL 2, Traktor Kontrol X1, a Macbook, a pair of KRK Rokit RP5s, Traktor Audio 10 and Traktor Scratch Pro 2.
I have uncontrollable RGAS :p
CybertrashMemberWhat you do is you take 2-step garage, and then you add bass. And then some more bass.
