    1. Welcome man!

    2. Huge subwoofers and speakers doesn’t make you a good DJ

    3. It’s all about making contacts no matter what age you are.
I’m currently 17 started DJing when I was 15. And since I’m underaged there was no way for me to get into the clubs and talk to promoters so I had to find my own way.

I DJed at every houseparty I could. Making a name in my own age group.
Been getting lots of gigs that way.

Then at a festival I went up to the festival manager and introduced myself.
He contacted me about one month later and I’ve been DJing at pretty much all of their events ever since.

Now when I’m producing my own music I send it to local DJ’s and get their opinion and getting my name out there.
So at the moment I’m working on getting my first local club gig (had some gigs in other cities in Sweden).
But tbh older people don’t really appreciates having a younger DJ playing their music…

So I’d recommend you playing at friends parties and stuff since you’re so young and get some experience
Hope it helped and good luck man!

Thx GerdB, I’ll check it out!

And maybe DDJT should make something so you can post Edits/ tracks on their site and get feedback and maybe free downloads so other people also can play the edits

Don’t know if you guys have it, but in Sweden we have a music album series released twice a year, for instance “hits for kid winter party 2014”. great way to find music for the younger audience. Try making a spotify search for hits for kids and I think they have some playlist on spotify.

Oh and kids only dance to music they’ve heared before… So only play music you think they’ll recognise like ^#10 on the top list and the hits for kids

    good luck man!

People will probably try to play with your dj gear
Haven’t really found a good idea to stop this thou other than just having a “wall” around it so it’s harder for them to reach it

Elevate your laptop so it won’t overheat as easy (might not be needed for a Macbook)

Tape your cables to the floor so no1 will get stuck in the cables and knock down the speakers

all I can think of now

Another question (kind of same thing)

How to deal with people playing playbacks??
I know 2 DJ’s who are playing playbacks at gigs/ soundclouds and getting creddit for something some1 else did or dat they have recorded in advance. Could post one obvious example here, if it’s okey?
And it really annoys me cause they are getting gigs I could have gotten instead.

Just like Nostalgia said it’s almost like 2 scenarios
When I play early in the evening/ warmup/ background music I like to play full tracks and when it’s more like “main music” I play it for a shorter time period
    learned this from DJ TLM:

Forgot to bring back the crossfader to the middle, so there was no sound when I brought in the next track 😛

Hi Joao! Gongratz to the gig!
I’m in the same situation as you
I’ll be playing 15-30min x 5-6 times between the concerts
But I’m planning on playing simular genres as the previous and transition more towards the next artist but alittle still not the same genre
For example if someone is playing soul and the next rock I’ll might play soulful house or something like dat and transition to some laidback chill rock

    Just an idea thou
    Good luck man!

I’d love to have a DDJT app so you won’t have to use the browser on your smartphone
