Yeah I’ll try to dig into their forum. Otherwise I’d have to break out my ion discover dj lol
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantI’ve looked on the mixvibes website and they don’t have the Gemini g2v on there (although the do have a couple lower end Gemini controllers on there).
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantWhere do you find these unofficial maps? I’d be willing to buy mixvibes if they supported my controller
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantSo a little update: I ended up shopping around and I ended up getting a pair of used Behringer B215D’s that came with stands and cables for 320 USD. What do you think?
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantHow many people do you plan to play to? most of the little bluetooth speakers dont carry a whole lot of power.
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantThat’s a smart thing to do. Don’t be a show-off
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantUnless you’re trying to do some video editing and rendering video while trying to DJ you will be fine with the dell. I have an ASUS core i3 ~2.3ghz and it runs fine even when i accidently leave antivirus running. The whole Mac vs. PC is just irrelevant at this point. Save your money and get the PC. If you’ve been using a PC this whole time, don’t switch. Plus people are more likely to steal a mac.
June 25, 2014 at 6:06 pm in reply to: New DJ – Need some help with deciding on my set up CDJ's or Controller? #2038939dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantTerry and rizki covered everything but the only point I have to add is that this past weekend I actually went to a gig with a friend of mine (much older dj who’s been doing it for years) who had a set up of cdj 800s and a pioneer mixer. I could not see him do anything that couldn’t be done on a controller. Additionally with a controller he wouldn’t have to carry this heavy flight case around for them. With your budget you could get a really good controller and still have money left over. Appearances only count for so much when your back locks up from carrying cdjs up a flight of stairs.
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantDoesn’t have to be an audio program just anything that would take up resources. It doesn’t sound like a hardware issue you may want to try re-installing VDJ
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantThe way I’ve come to understand crowds is that they won’t care how the next song is brought it. They only care what that next song is. While i would never play like the guy did in your story, that’s how it was before mixers were a thing that everyone had. It would be the guy with a turntable, a microphone, and the most records doing your wedding.
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantAnother definition for DJ=Data Jockey.
A point that I would like to point out is Radio DJs. The guys talking on the radio aren’t messing around with vinyl and they play songs end to end so there isn’t much “jockeying” to be had. When it comes down to it, a DJ isn’t what the initials stand for, it’s the guy that makes the music happen.
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantSince you said that you have all your pc audio running through the mixtrack (I did that for a while too) or might be that you are having conflict with the sound card. Did you install any new programs recently?
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantHow much weight do you think it can support? How high and does it lock in place?
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantI’ve actually done this with the built-in mic input on my computer and my Mixtrack Pro. You have to go into the settings and under sound settings, under input, select Advanced Config. Add your controller’s out puts as audio channel 1&2 and your computer’s built in sound card as the microphone input. You may have to play around for which output will be headphones (mine was output 3&4). If it works I would recommend mapping a keyboard button to toggle_mic because it can get annoying if you leave it on accidentally.
dannyboyex@gmail.comParticipantI think you may be on to something. Thar looks quite handy.
