I can’t seem to find any for sale except the terminal 4 at guitar center online shop. Even google doesn’t turn up any results for buying the jockey 3 remix.

Have you tried amazon? Ebay may have some too.

to record it through audacity you would have to run it through the mic input not the headphone.

Yeah its a great amp but it’s +25 years old and i think the fan may not be 100% so i’m afraid of it over heating. the little rubber feet at the bottom started melting and the receiver(?) the accompanies it failed recently. The LD System looked good but i’m not sure the power output would be sufficient if i do a larger function. But thats probably me being paranoid. the Behringer speakers mentioned earlier looked good though.

This is the first part, the other parts are linked at the bottom of that page…

I’ve read them already (twice). Great articles but I’m looking for specific model suggestions because I’ve heard that there’s a lot of cheap Chinese generic speakers that suck and I have a buddy that says he’ll help me find a good deal but he needs the specific model to check because he doesn’t know anything about PA systems.

So, if you can go a little above your budget, I like the sound of the Behringer EUROLIVE B212D – decent bass for the price, but don’t expect miracles. Should be enough for small clubs and house parties though.

Well I do so smaller mobile gigs so it’s usually not more than 100 ppl or so plus I’m not going for rave level volumes.

Also I was curious about if I theoretically wanted to add a sub to my current setup and, how would I do it? I only have a set of rca inputs into the amp and then speaker wire outputs.

I vote go wired. I’ve been using an old school wired mic (i think it’s a shure) and i haven’t really need anything else especially for small gigs.

I have not had my hands on the Gemini yet and their gear has mixed reputation (I like their new CDJ, but some other gear from them really is bad…)

Yea hopefully you guys will get one to review so I could make a decision. Fortunately I’m not in a rush.

If you want to go really minimal I saw a DJ that played warmup for me a while back, go with a Faderfox 2-channel mixer and 2 midi fighters to control VDJ. However it was all custom mapped and skinned. So I guess that is also not what you want to go for.
If you want something like the Mixtrack just better made (aka all metal) you might even want to consider the MC-2000. It is Denon’s entry in the heavy metal construction, by still being very minimal and small in design. I had it in my hands only once, but it is built like a tank.
If the Terminal Mix 4 is too big, maybe the Terminal Mix 2 (smaller version but still 4 decks in VDJ Pro) might be OKish form factor wise.

I was actually looking at that the terminal mix 2 since i really dont need 4 deck control. Actually the gemini G2V that just got posted on the main site has caught my eye. weight isn’t an issue it’s more about volume and fitting existing bags. Thanks guys. the Denon does seem good and if i find one for a really good bargain i may scoop it up.

Terry_42, post: 43714, member: 1843 wrote: Well most “pro” controllers go in that size. The S4, Terminal Mix, VCI-400,… all about the same size and very easy to handle in a backbag. I carry my Terminal Mix 4 in a Timbuk2 messenger bag most of the time, together with a crane stand, Macbook and cables… quite easy.
Most other controllers I would not really call an upgrade and some more expensive ones are even bigger (DDJ-SX).

Hmm good point. I may stick to the lower end. I don’t really need the extra stuff the big boys offer plus “lugaroundability” is a major factor. I’m just looking for something even slightly not as wide as the MTP. I appreciate the suggestions

I concur. Audacity for splitting tracks and also putting them together again

However I would look into the Reloop Digital Jockey Remix for Traktor as it offers a bit more than the dated S2, however the jogwheels of the S2 might be a bit less latent (but that is an inherit Traktor problem, that its jogwheel mappings are bad for all controllers except NI)

Chuck, we were talking about an upgrade to the Mixtrack Pro, not a sidegrade :p

The reloop seems good but it’s a lot bigger than what I’m looking for. It’s hard enough finding a bag the MTP can fit in lol. Are the older reloops any good?

lol that could work as long as you don’t electrocute yourself

I wasn’t talking about the HD-25IIs I meant headphones in the style of (see picture). I spent a lot of time looking up affordable headphones recently is why.
