i found a local store` with the Reloop RHP-10 so i went in right away to test them. Even with the small-hole pads (i can’t describe it in another manner). I have to say that i was quite impressed. I think they ticked all the boxes of my wishes. The only downside i could notice is the fact that the bass didn’t lived up to my expectations. Is it commonly find at the rhp-10s??

your suggestion is appealing to me. For the HD 201. I’ll go test them too. 🙂

    djrizki…haha why such a reaction?

no torrents just soundcloud….with a soundcloud rainer or storm app downloaded from chrome store.

Actually i bought a stereo to 2x stereo cable not a stereo to 2x mono. But i ll go for the usb soundcard (8 euros) and start with that. Do you think that it’ll be useful to try to beatmatch, throw the beat right etc if i start doing with my mapped laptop or should i wait when i ll buy a controller?

Considering CDJs “a step up” is a wrong concept.

For example last weekend I DJed a festival with my trusty Terminal Mix (lots of people). After my set I packed the thing up of course and let the next DJ play (he had a NI S4).
In the middle of his set the manager came up to me and told me the next DJ has called in sick and if I could play another set. Since I had already packed, but always bring my backup USB drive, I agreed.
The club had of course 2 CDJs (I think 900s) with Link and a good A&H Xone mixer too. So I put in my USB thumpdrive and played another 90min set from the CDJs. I have never felt so limited again. Now the set was good and it was no problem, but I would have much preferred my controller and was angry I was too lazy to put it up again.

Well i admit that i didn’t know the fact that CDjs are limited but my actual question was about buying a mixer and connect it to my mapped laptop or buy a controller instead. That was my actual point and i am sorry if i didn’t make it clear enough to understand. I do like Terminal mix more than S4 ( a bit out of subject but ok).

You can download the manual from the VDJ site with a registered VDJ Pro key under downloads. (I cannot deep link it sorry, as you need to have the serial of your VDJ Pro assigned to your account.)

As i look into the table of contents i don t see “audio routing and volume levels”( i found the pdf file from vdj site). Should i click a particlar section??

Don’t worry all had to start somewhere. at least you re trying. i gave up on the idea when i was young because i had to use vinyl and could not afford any of the gear or the music. now because controllers and software progressed i gave it another shot, at first as a hobby, now as a part time job that i do mainly out of pleasure. not that laptops are cheap, but most people online at least seem to have access to one. Best thing you can do if you havent already done so is map your keyboard to the program and learn it by heart. there are even a few good mixes on youtube with people using virtual dj or traktor and you can see their screen and everything they re doing because they only use a mouse. yes having better gear will certainly help you progress faster but you can have all the gear in the world….if you havent got the passion for music and persistence, you won’t go anywhere.

ask yourself this….if there is somewhere you really want to go, would you not walk there just because you can’t afford a car?

good points!! im trying to map my laptop’s keyboard and i came up with an idea : mapping a numberpad to be this thing like cue-sampler trigger ( i cant remember how it is called) but already i have mapped the mixer section and the looping but it is hard i may buy a cheap keyboard and rewrite the buttons i want to use!!
if u know any sight that provides me with the commands i can use it will be nice! If not nvm im have learnt to teach my self many more difficult things than mapping a keyboard!
And as for the passion for music,i think i am full of it i mostly use songs lyrics to express myself, if i cant find a song i wont give up and many similar things!

    thanks for your support!

Now… I started with a mixtrack pro and bought full pro of VDJ, and now I’m on an S4 in traktor pro. having used both, I say this: if you are going to be strictly a mobile dj, vdj is just fine, and because of the vjaying, it allows some interesting possibilities. However, if you are doing any kind of club setup I would strongly suggest traktor. traktor crashes less often, works better with other midi devices, has more capability, and is in a way, industry standard (I cant speak for Serato or rekordbox’s functioning) but I have NEVER seen anyone use VDJ in a club. also upgrading VDJ is like 150 USD… Traktor is like 80…

im going to buy reloop beatmix which works with both vdj and traktor…i ll start with vdj LE and then buy traktor as soon as i get my sony vaio 🙂 because i ll learn with a desktop pc, i don t have a laptop but a netbook which i used like an iPad for holidays, facebooking etc. I have used traktor w/ my friend s S4 and it s REALLY awesome i think it s the best in that price categoty!!

If you want to learn DJing in the traditional sense then the beatmix is by far the better controller. It is a solid controller and has all the functions that you need to learn DJing the traditional way.

So the WeGo is for those who want to become a “bedroom Dj”,not for those who want to move on with club djing etc, and the beatmix is for those who want to become a bedroom dj AND for those who want to move on on club djing etc ??

I had one of those usb soundcards and they are cheaply made and break (mine did bad times) so i’d say go for the cable.. Also most of the free programs that split the sound for the usb cards don’t work so i would highly recommend the cable unless you want to invest £80 on a dj soundcard..

i meant usb LAPTOP sound cards not dj sound cards!!! form those u buy about 10 euros online

As the laptop s soundcard s concerned i have a solution, i usually plug my laptop to a home cinema or a hi-fi so if i have the hi fi near to me and the speakers a bit far, i conncet my headphones and i should be ok.

The Black Rag, post: 36027, member: 7330 wrote: Here’s the gist of it,the two lnes you see on the male plug for the stereo lets you know it is stereo they are the way you see it has two channels plus a ground while mono as the name would suggest has a single channel plus ground[or more commonly known as zero].The addapters you should use with the splitter if you plan to plug in stereo males from your pc speakers or your headphones have a stereo male plug. The adapters them selves don’t really transform mono sound into stereo. They feed one channel into two by splitting the channel allowing you to get essentially mono through a stereo plug which you normally wouldn’t be able to do.So yeah what you bought right there,if you bought both the splitter and the two mono to stereo adapters is exactly what you need.Given this solution isn’t exactly perfect in any way as it does make you have to rely more on your soundcard for sound quality. But it’s great for home setups for practicing and even maybe some minor parties where you don’t have to do give super high quality,it’s also a great setup if you are using a program to stream your mixes over the internet cause the person listening in will listen in stereo while you monitor and mix in mono to your self.

glad to hear this!! thanks for enligtening me about these lines, too.
