I recommend the power script which is available and explained on DJTT. This turns off pretty much everything you don’t need or want that would otherwise be running in the background.
http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/08/14/optimizing-windows-for-djing-part-i-power-script/
Save it on your desktop and run it before you start Traktor.

I addition, I recommend you set your power plan to high performance, PLUS change the following in Advanced Power Settings for that plan:
USB Settings > USB Selective Suspend Setting > DISABLED

THEN

Go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Right click each entry in the list: Properties > Power Management and DESELECT the option to allow the computer to turn off the device.

The USB setting changes I have described should resolve the single most common cause of latency that I know of.

alright, i’ll give it a shot :3

so using a herculese MK 4 dj cosole as a sound card will not work?

Most of his work may not coincide with your taste but so what?
You could start an endless debate about Swedish House Mafia or even Daft Punk (Don’t you dare! 😉 ) as well, but admittedly, all of them brought, maybe only in a separating manner, the genre forward.

Though, I have to agree, there seem to be better DJs (skill-wise) than Monsieur Guetta.
I heard the same discussion about “too mainstream, too commercial, too lame a dj” about the Disco Boys a few years ago,
but experiencing them first hand, they really busted the floor and set the club on fire – so they can’t be all that bad, and I think as long as David Guetta accomplishes the same, well, he’s gotta do something right!

Contrary example, I don’t generally like what famous Laidback Luke produces or remixes – but his essential mix blew me off my chair.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like most of what D.G. produces, being, agreed, too much of the same lane driven again & again. But, for example, I like this

And it is not “typical” D.G., but closer to Daft Punk. Which is okay. And he don’t deserve hate for that. So I think we shouldn’t put any artist (and, of course, everybody we meet) into a certain category overhasty, because he may have aspects that might prove that category wrong.

Just my thoughts.

thats not the case. Its the fact that his only claim to fame in the states is being stuck making beats for shitty pop stars and rappers. In the states he’s not a dj, hes a fracking producer. So to me hes just stuck in shitty american edm. That and all his leads seem to consist of only 2 chords. :/

Nice to hear that your issues are taken care of 🙂

Not to start a mac vs pc thread but to me a 2000 dollar pc that cant bse upgraded and forces you to toss out your old hard ware and spend 2000 more dollars on one with more ram is a huge ball buster for me.

I would say thats about the right thing to do there VB. do what you can to knock the tune off track and then nudge it back into place. AVOID THE SYNC BUTTON AT ALL COSTS! im learning to break that habbit as well.

its like the usb cord to my novation dicers. i don’t know why it has to bend at a 90 degree angle. there’s nothing else taht has to plug into it like the daisy chain cable for my dicers.
