1. What headphones do you own? Sennheiser HD25-1-II, Sennheiser HD-215, Sony MDR-V300, Sony DR-BT101 (all for slightly different purposes)
2. What headphones do you DJ with? (can be multiple) Sennheiser HD25-1-II
3. Could you reccomend me any headphones? I less than three my Senny’s. I had a backup pair of Technics RPDJ-1210’s which I’d also recommend – mine got stolen on a night out 🙁 I’ve also owned Pioneer HDJ-1000’s, which were nice for using with my iPod, but broke so I wouldn’t recommend for DJing with, and Sony MDR-V500 which were kind of middle-of-the-road (but, again, broke) for all uses.

To sum up: Sennheiser HD25-1-II. You won’t be sorry.

Emma, I meant people who play off physical media (“actual” records, and Audio CDs). Particularly some of the stuff about sound quality – seeing people running mixers in the red the whole time makes me cringe. And even some of the stuff about doing it for the music.

Although it’s also interesting to see the way people often put DVS DJs (like me) in a different category to “pure” physical media or “pure” digital DJs. It’s all just playing other people’s records, innit?

My favourite part was that they’re not just applicable to digital djs. I know physical media DJs who could use some of those tips.

Right Click -> Quick Look also brings up the previewer.

1) Breaks
2) Breaks

The nice thing about playing mostly breaks is being able to play stuff from pretty much any genre that’s the tempo range (which, for me, is 125 – 145. Obviously not at the same time …)

The best answer to this question is: “Good music”.

The most annoying people I’ve had are (twice, now) people who requested tunes from a particular decade (60’s once, 80’s the other), when I had been playing tunes from those decades previously.

I don’t really need any more gear. I could turn the 1000’s into 2000’s, the 62 into a 92, maybe add a second Kontrol X1 – but my current setup does pretty much exactly what I need it to do.

The last three tunes: Soft Cell’s cover of Tainted Love, Sunglasses At Night, Blue Monday. The request: “Can you play something from the 80’s?”
