Using things like grouping and smart playlists you can usually set all this in either iTunes or your DJ software. That way you don’t have to worry about what folder they are in and you can create an impromptu smart playlist if the night calls for it. Also it will let you create more complex queries than a flat folder structure would allow.

I have no feelings on mixing any genre with any other. It depends on the venues you play, the kind of DJ your are (or want to be) and the success with which you can pull it off. I have played Hooked On Classics – Waltzes and Stars on 45 (an Andrew Sisters medley with a disco beat) at clubs back in the day, or old fashioned rock-n-roll. Again, you are the driver, all you have to do is keep an eye out if the passengers are still enjoying the trip.

    Thnks a lot for responding.

Im not much used to smart playists ,so I was using folders manually.
I just released smart playlists are better and I want to know on what basis and what conditions should I create for some cool smart playlists?

    Have a nice day 🙂

Hi there, good question. Do you have some options in the grey bar that also has the date of the post in it? One of those options should read edit. I haven’t got access to a regular login atm, only my moderator account, so can’t check for sure.

Yeah,I am able to edit my posts and replies unless Im unlucky atm.
Sometimes they disappear and I am not able to edit it (but can report and reply it)

Recording myself as opposed to using production software. Yes it’s less flawless but I can factor practice time and record time. (Doing Facebook Lives too).
If I trainwreck something I’ll edit it on ableton before publishing it lol
Gear’s a nexus2 set (2000s and DJM-900). Using Pro DJ Link, not using sync. TRYING not to over-use effects although it’s tempting. Bit of reverb and echoes. Priority for selection is: General feeling I have > Tempo consistency > Key compatibility. So yeah I look at it but the key will never prevent me from cueuing up a track if I think it’s the perfect next track. (Applies more to live gigs actually, because mixtapes are prepped more thoroughly)
    Have a nice day

Oh, they are reading, just about every introduction here get’s some reaction. These forums do have more of a question and answer or knowledge base character than a “let’s get together and chat” place. So, start sharing experiences and/or asking questions and you will start to see people jumping in.

    Haha,so true.Im totally convinced
Can I ask you where can I post my samples for sharing
