    cheers for the advice Vintage, came across this, any better? as you can tell am not the brightest when it comes to the technical stuff on laptops

    myself was about a year, i never bought the equipment to play gigs but i enjoyed messing about with them in my room with a mate, 95% of most music is muck so we enjoyed finding the tunes we did like. first equipment i had was a pair of kam belt drive red dwarf, over the last month i bought a bought a traktor kontrol z2 and a pair of technics 1210s and still love it to this day

    i entered a local competition and go to warm up for the resident and Marcel Woods in a local club about 10 years ago, i didnt do too bad until i hit the cue button on the CDJ and just stopped the music dead, haha good times

    yeah i gave it a good read, the turntables came with 2 grey ortofons pro thank ++++censored+++++ but 1 of the stylus was beat and that site was 1 of the cheapest

    Vintage am in Ireland but that website seems reasonable, never been on it before

    i needed the headsheel, cartridge and needle and its cheaper than what i was expecting

    i just got my z2 yesterday, will be getting a second hand pair of technics on tuesday, thats when they real fun starts

    but the mixer it self is amazing, even using it on its own with traktor and the keyboard short cuts is easy buns – cueing, playing, loops, effects. well worth the £400

    1 of the djs (Tony De Vit) who got me into dance music and buying my first pair of kam belt drive’s, this remix was lethal. RIP

    this has been out over a year but its new to me, its a belter and 1 of the best tunes av came across in a while. falls into a few genre’s but id say house/techno

    Lolo i myself had a numark mixtrack pro 2, i paid 110 euro for it and was amazing first controller to get me started, have not used the other controllers, but even messing about with a bit of scratching was a laugh

    i would recommend that as i felt it had everything to get me started on the controller side of things and they can be picked up pretty cheap second hand

    am only using this bedroom use, i dont plan to have a residence or any thing close to 6 hours a day. i bearly have time to eat never mind practice that many hours a week.

    as for the controller, i can see there are no play buttons. if you look at this vido at the 9.25 mark on. hold shift and press A or B beside REL/INTL will play the music thats loaded in the decks

    no? i have been told that i could, it can be used with Traktor and there is buttons on the mixer to press play and the eq’s, crossfader will control that will control the software.

    i dont plan to scratch when i do get turntables, ive had a few sets before and the needles have lasted longer than 6 months

    sorry to hijack the thread but this could also answer my question too

    the traktor Z2, can that be used just as a controller until i save up and get my hands on a good pair of direct drives?
