Ok. I see what you mean. I guess they are designed for studio/bedroom use only. Could you recommend good monitors that I could use instead as booth monitors. I should be able to get the place to hire them or can get them myself. Thanks for the info.

Ok thanks. I don’t actually use a controller just two turnables and Traktor Scracth with timcode. My mixer doesn’t have split cue so it would mean upgrading which is something I was looking doing to soon anyway. I actually have 2 Rokit 8 speakers at home so I guess as they are individually powered I could take one (or both) to the gig.

    Thanks

    Hi

I buy from Bandcamp, Beatport and sometimes from Juno Download and Traxsource. I dont buy from Amazon or Itunes for the simple reason that I want to buy tracks in the best possible quality, either in WAV (which I then convert to AIFF) or AIFF. I use vinyl and timecode and the reason for deciding to go ‘part’ digital was cost. Often I might here a 12″ single or EP where I only like one of the tracks. Or, as had happened in recent years, the single is released as a limited edition and if you miss it you have to pay extortionate prices on discogs.

There are no decent record stores where I am so with shipping the average vinyl single costs £10 which is a bit much for one track. However if I can find that single track as a legit digital download I am happy to pay the extra to have an uncompressed file. It’s still a saving of £6 or £7!

    Hi

    I have found the solution:

    http://www.traktorbible.com/articles/recording_with_external_mixer.aspx

I had to change the settings in Traktor to external mixer and connected a cable from the main out on the Traktor box to the mixer and changed the external input source to input deck c.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. I just use the A and H as a normal mixer. I have just checked Itunes and found the first mix I did last year and it was recorded correctly so it can be done! I can’t word the bbcodes but here is a link to show the screenshots:

Hi. Thanks for the replies. DJ Vintage: I don’t think that I need to do that as a work around because I know that I have successfully recorded from Traktor before with no usb etc. It was just a long time ago as I stopped using Traktor for a while and can’t remember now.

I have taken sone screenshots and these are probably the best way of showing what the issue is but I can’t see how to put them into a post.
