    Update 2.0

    The cops wouldn’t let me take my gear because the homeowners ran and I couldn’t prove it was mine in their eyes. The promoter did find out that somebody stole it and sent some people to recover it all (except my 1/4 adapter) and deal out some Texas style justice.

    I did learn a lesson from this and my plan for future events that aren’t in clubs is going to be to ask for a $700 deposit incase my gear gets damaged or stolen again. If the night goes as planned I take my cut and give the rest back at the end.

    About the gear though: I’m going to just wait until the NDX 500 officially comes out just so I can get used to playing with out hot cues.

    UPDATE: I dj’d a house party last night. Cops came and the home owners ran because there were minors there. I was told I could leave by the police but because I wasn’t drunk but I couldn’t get my gear because I wasn’t the home owner nor did I know where he was. Needless to say when I swung back by an hour later to get my stuff everything was missing. Laptop, controller, speakers, headphones and external hard drive. The police department said that the officers would have no reason to take the speakers and controller and probably wouldn’t take the laptop. (I called to see if they grabbed it for “evidence”)

    So basically I NEED to buy new gear now. I have an old laptop but there is no way I could use it for DJ’ing. (it’s from 2004) I’m going to go through ZZSounds and their payment plan but what would be better: Mixdeck Quad or CDMP-7000?
