I run my site through Tumblr, this gave me the freedom to customise the front-end in HTML and when I want to add content all I have to do is create a new post on Tumblr, which I can do from my phone, iPad, laptop – I really like this flexibility and ease of use.

I used Tumblr (mainly because my friends were using it) but it’s worked out quite well, you can create separate pages showcasing various things (for example a live stream, studio mixes, live mixes). Tumblr is widely supported online, you can link your Soundcloud and Mixcloud to it nice and easily and with free access to the HTML code, you can really make the page your own, I’ve even got my own URL for mine now:

I am highly interesting in getting an X1 for controlling a track deck in C and D. Having pictured this in great detail though, it’s dawned on me that my S2 only has mixing controls for 2 channels. Is there any known workaround to this that could help me gain mixing control over the additional 2 new channels?

    Cheers for the advice

Which ever one is more convenient for you, I personally don’t know which one is quantifiably ‘better’, having scanned the internet it appears that there is quite a debate over this topic.

Ultimately, I’m almost certain you won’t notice any audible difference between the two.

That depends entirely on what setup you have, what hardware are you using? If you have a controller with a sound card built into it, it will almost definitely be a higher quality sound card than that of your laptop.

I am either looking to gain more control over fx/samples/cue points, create fills or to be able to control decks C and D in Traktor Pro 2. I like the look of the X1 but you can do everything the X1 offers on the S2 by the looks of it? Unless using it as a controller for the other decks. The Midi Fighter looks great, have you got any practical experience with it?
