Hi mate,
Cool I really appreciate the effort in the response and your help thanks a lot for your time, now to go buy one .
JayBurgeMemberAfter searching and searching high and low for reviews and forum posts there is just nothing near the mixtrack pro. I loved mine.
JayBurgeMemberI use an S4 and was playing around with the new S4 @ BPM in Birmingham. My first thoughts were that it was just a modded version of what I had and I had to double take as to whether it was the old S4. On and working its a lot brighter as the S4 in my opinion sucks ford back light in a dark dj booth.
It felt a bit plasticky considering how much has been talked about improved build and solid feel. For me it doesn’t feel like a big enough jump and more of a slight improvement. granted I only had a 15 minute go on it I don’t know whether there is going to be any significant change to how it utilises the software.
I was a bit disappointed and expecting a touch strip
JayBurgeMemberYeah it’s pretty sturdy I think it wud deffo work on its own merit away from the wall.
The links work from my pc. Strange.
JayBurgeMemberreally interesting back and forth and from a dance head moving into djing its weird how snobby some parts of this scene are. I think regardless of being snobby about gear I think dance music in itself is mega snobby. I’ve been getting myself out to loads of raves these past few months and have seen just as good a set from a commercial dj to that of some next big thing, under ground, prog/tech/deep house if you havent heard of him you don’t know anything dj.
From my experience though the guys on this forum steer well clear of being snobby. That you actually take the time to answer “I am new which dj controller should I use” for the thousandth time with courtesy is brilliant.
Banging tunes reading the crowd and getting involved and having fun is what its about. 🙂
JayBurgeMemberhey ess jay,
you seem to be in a very similar position to me having spent a good few months with a mixtrack pro. I’ve have just today bought the jockey 3 me from ebay (although now you have me worried terry!!). From scouring this site and others and youtube with a firmware update (i’ll leave that for another day) looks like a blinding bit of kit for use with Traktor and for my level of skill will be still learning for a good few years. I can’t wait to set it up. You will have to let me know how you get on with it. The reviews from Phil and also ean golden are quite good if you haven’t already seen them.
I use a pretty similar set up to you and so would be really interested what the main differences you have found are
JayBurgeMembernever hurt Sven Vath I seriously don’t know how that man stands during some of his sets. its not big and its not clever

I’ll be using my Mixtrack Pro with Serato Itch as I’m not up to speed yet with my new Traktor S4 and Traktor Pro. It won’t be anything fancy, just press play and cross fade but, as we all know, it’s all about song selection.
So, I’m doing it as a favour but who knows where it may lead. Playing the long game.leasst your having a pop mate. good luck to you
JayBurgeMemberIts fine Ibiza. Gets such a bad wrap for it being burnt out, to commercial, to many EDM newbies but where else a stones throw from the UK can you lie on a beach watch a sunset then have a good laugh with your pals into the early morning watching carl cox.
superficial idiots aside and dont go near it in the height of summer but its still ace
JayBurgeMemberhad a mega experience muscling in on my friends VIP @ Space it was beautiful. I just put my arm out a red label was put on my arm and I just wandered on giving my best hows everything going tonight BS small talk.

September 8, 2012 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Hello everyone from a Manchester based Techno/House Newbie #1011853JayBurgeMemberHey Phil. That’s very bizarre a message from you as I’m following a tip from your YouTube channel!
Thanks for the effort put into them. Djing is amazingly fun but from the outside looks insanely technical and expensive (and im sure it can be).
Thanks for the time in replying!
Also if you are in Manchester tonight my friends running an old school trance night. It’s gonna be great.
Spread the word haha
Thanks again guys hope your out working/raving tonight 🙂
JayBurgeMemberHi boom box,
Appreciate the help still having a bit of trouble. It seems to work on virtual dj easy enough. I’ll just keep playing around until I get it. Thanks very much for taking the time to help.
